MBR REUSE

Our client operated a physical-chemical plant that treated various effluent streams generated within the industrial plant, as well as a sewage effluent stream. We installed a plant that allows the reuse of wastewater in an important aluminum packaging manufacturing company. MBR technology is an ideal ally to promote the reuse of treated water. Membrane biological reactors (MBR) combine biological treatment with membrane filtration, as their name indicates. Depending on the pore size of the membrane, MBRs can be used for microfiltration or ultrafiltration. This technology is similar to conventional activated sludge systems, with the difference that solid-liquid separation is carried out through membrane filtration, and not through sedimentation in a secondary settler.
